British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Tragic Road Accident
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, local government spokespeople stated on Wednesday night. The fighter was involved in a car accident near Lagos on Monday, a devastating event that took the lives of two of his close associates.
Healing from Light Wounds
The boxer had been receiving medical attention while recovering from minor injuries, his promoter had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on X that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.
“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two friends who passed away as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.
A Tribute to the Fallen
The two men who died were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. The official further stated that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and deeply emotional over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”
