Football Analyst Sutton Battles Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions
The Gunners' ten-match victorious streak came to an end by the Black Cats prior to the global hiatus, but will the English top division leaders recover against local foes Spurs this Sunday?
"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked football specialist Chris Sutton.
"The Spurs manager will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still find a way to win."
The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this season, against artificial intelligence, readers and a variety of guests.
For the twelfth round, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.
The singer's new record, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.
Soccer and Parenting Experiences
Olly is a skilled footballer as well as a successful artist and has been a featured player of multiple Soccer Aid games over time - but he is not planning a serious return as a footballer.
"{I recently played in a benefit match the other evening for a friend of mine," he explained. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!
"I still love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.
"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my daughter or son chooses to play instead."
The singer and his spouse his partner have two children, their daughter and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.
"I will not push football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be coaching their Saturday soccer side," he said.
"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a period too.
"My dad coached with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I get it from. He coached our side for several years and had great fun with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Top Division Predictions
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues might have to be patient for their star's comeback from fitness issues but their offense is now more potent with Pedro and Delap both back fit.
In my opinion this fixture will be quite close, however. The Clarets are disciplined and their sole home losses so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.
This suggests a 1-1 draw to me, but I am actually going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.
The expert's prediction: 1-2
The singer's prediction: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3
AI's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have been defeated in their previous couple matches - albeit both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which shocked me.
On the other hand, West Ham secured two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they appear competitive again.
West Ham's only away victory this campaign came at Forest in the summer, when their boss Nuno was previously Forest coach.
So, what exactly do I go with here - will it be the Hammers continuing their streak under Nuno, or Bournemouth bouncing back?
I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.
Sutton's prediction: 2-0
Olly's outlook: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under Nuno. 2-2
AI's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Brentford were seen as one of the favourites for the drop before the campaign started, but they have surprised a few observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their last four matches.
My son advised me to get Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks back and, guess what, I ignored the advice.
Thiago will probably find the net again on the weekend but I am still not going to select him or support the away side at Brighton's ground.
The Bees have not had much fortune on the road this season, and the Seagulls are consistently decent at their stadium. The visitors will try to attack on the break but I think Fabian Hurzeler's side pose much more of a danger.
Sutton's forecast: 2-1
The singer's view: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a lot of goals but it actually proves to be quite close. 1-1
The computer's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
This is a huge game for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six matches.
They have have plenty of talent in their team but it nonetheless feels like they could be dragged into a relegation fight.
Regarding the Black Cats, indeed they are the surprise package of the Premier League campaign so far.
Their display in the two-all tie with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not seen anyone else disrupt the North London side like that this term, and they were more than a match for them.
The sensible thing to do to support the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of disrupting the hosts up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated the Blues at the close of October.
But I am not choose that. Rather, I truly need to continue going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of credit for their positive results because they clearly enjoy to prove me wrong.
Considering the home side's home record, the sole team they have lost to is Arsenal. Marco Silva's side will be extremely eager for a good result, so I am going to say they will pick up three much-needed points.
The expert's forecast: 1-0
The guest's choice: I know the visitors are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a bad run... but they have still been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0
The algorithm's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
It is a hard one to call. The Reds have lost seven of their last ten matches in every tournament, but might they be among the teams who profit from the {international break|
