Jurgen Klopp says coming back to coach Liverpool is conceivable.
The German coach, who departed from Anfield in 2024, has suggested that a future comeback remains a possibility. The 58-year-old, post a game-changing nine-season tenure featuring Champions League success and ending the club's long wait in 30 years, now holds positions overseeing worldwide football within the Red Bull organization and as an advisor to Germany's league body.
Fan Sentiment and His Frank Comments
Liverpool won the league title last season, yet numerous supporters holding him in high esteem would embrace the idea of his potential comeback. During an extensive chat, he explained to Steven Bartlett: “I said I won't manage a different club on English soil. Therefore in case it's my former club...yeah. Theoretically it’s possible.”
“Being 58, so I might decide in a few years, it's uncertain. Do I have to make the decision today? If so, I wouldn't return. But thank God, no such pressure exists. I'll wait and observe what the future brings.”
Conditions for a Comeback
When asked about the specific conditions would have to unfold to bring him back to the touchline, Klopp admitted he isn't eager to such a return. “I'm not entirely sure, I enjoy my current role,” he said. “I don't crave being a coach; I don’t miss standing in the rain for lengthy sessions; I'm glad to skip media briefings multiple times weekly or doing numerous chats a week.

He commended for his successor, acknowledging his role for the tweaks which secured the championship in the previous season. Liverpool have lost a string of losses across various tournaments after a summer spending spree, but he rubbished the idea of it representing a decline.

“Can you substitute somebody like Diogo? This isn't just regarding the player himself, his personality mattered. I struggle to conceive the team environment missing him. I find it difficult to discuss about it. A devastating blow for the entire squad also. Nobody at Liverpool would cite it to justify results yet it's the reality. You walk in a dressing room where he was omnipresent. Handling this emotionally is not easy. Impossible.”
