The Opening Game Pass Titles of 2026 Reveal Xbox Remains Committed.
In numerous discussions, fans keep sounding the funeral bells for Microsoft's gaming division. Microsoft's console just got outsold by a lesser-known competitor. Dedicated Xbox communities are now publishing content about PlayStation unprecedentedly. 2025 was an era of significant turmoil for the Xbox ecosystem. Yet, based exclusively on the titles headed to the service in 2026, it's evident that Xbox still intends to engage players with compelling titles on its premier subscription.
The Immediate Additions
A pair of titles that are immediately available as you read this, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, aren't the showstoppers. The true anticipation is for the upcoming titles to Game Pass in the coming weeks that's worth getting excited about.
Significant Forthcoming Releases
On Jan. 13, Game Pass will add the underappreciated Star Wars Outlaws, an open-world game that refreshes the standard Ubisoft formula with a space-faring criminal escapade. A further major acquisition is Resident Evil Village featuring the towering Lady Dimitrescu, which our 2021 review called "an ideal blend of horror and action."
Intriguing Niche Additions
Yet, the less-hyped additions set to join the catalog are quite compelling. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, a fantastic but under-the-radar dungeon crawler offering thrilling gameplay, becomes available next week — and it merits a playthrough whether or not you experienced the first Lost in Random game.
The British post-apocalyptic game from last year could captivate you in about 15 minutes flat.
Atomfall, a survival title with stealth elements by the developers behind Sniper Elite, is also a game to check out. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to look forward to.
A Solid, Curated Lineup
All in all, these aren't the most groundbreaking additions to Game Pass, and they are also not massive exclusive blockbusters that justify the service in the first place. But Microsoft's additions here are rock solid. There's a good mixture of past releases that passed you by and relatively recent releases that didn't get the attention they were due initially — which makes them perfect candidates to find a new audience on Game Pass.
You might need to brace yourself to say goodbye to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, though.
